See Real Sharks Up Close at Underwater Adventure
They have sharks in Minnesota?
Yes, at the Mall of Americas Underwater Adventure. Along with over 4,500 other sea creatures both fresh and salt water.
The first part of the tour is modeled after a Minnesota forest where you'll encounter Brutus a giant Alligator Snapping turtle and some of the biggest Trout you will ever see. There are also signs along the way providing information about each animal. The real fun begins as you’re led through a glass tunnel 14 feet under water where you can see the sharks, sting rays, sea turtles, and other creatures swimming right above your head. It's really an amazing experience, and it's the closest you can get to these creatures without actually getting in the water. There's also an exhibit dedicated to sea life in Hollywood that's very interesting, in addition you'll also see:
- Jellyfish
- Octopus
- Lobster
- Much more!
As you come to the end of the tour there is a shallow tank that lets you actually touch a baby sting ray, which most kids (and adults) get a kick out of. The staff at Underwater Adventure is very helpful, and always willing to answer any questions you might have.
